Find the right Trigger to press
Procedure: A 4v2 game is played in one corner of the field. If the pressure from the defenders becomes too intense, the possession team has the option to switch the field at any time by simply playing the ball inside. However, the free defender can intervene, maintaining the game as a 4v2 situation at all times.
Coaching Points: The free defender’s main focus should be on recognizing when the field is being switched or anticipating it to apply pressure. Particular attention should be given to ball recovery.
Variation: As a variation, the game can be played without the presence of the free defender. This further trains the two inner players to recognize field switches.
